Notifications are everything in this age of constant distraction and diversion — and knowing how to manage them is crucial to optimizing your workflow. Luckily, Follow Up Boss allows you to customize notifications to a lead’s status and activity.
Let’s walk through how to open up your notification settings and customize them, as well as what each customization means.
Please note that if you’re on a team with other members, each member will need to do this individually — there are no global settings notifications on Follow Up Boss.
To navigate to your notification settings, click on the notification bell in the top right corner of the home page. You can select the gear icon in the resulting dropdown, which will take you to a list of various possible events to toggle and thus send you notifications.
You can enable browser notifications in order for you to receive a push notification in your browser of choice — Firefox, Chrome, and so on. For activity on SMS drips, make sure your SMS notifications are active by subscribing to them.
TIP! Not sure how to subscribe to notifications? Check out the blue bubble, labeled How Notifications Work, in the top right corner of the screen.
There are a total of five different types of notifications. In some cases, all five may be available, while others may be disabled depending on the event. Let’s take a look:
The notification bell appears as a red dot on FUB’s “Notifications” icon.
The browser notification appears as a pop-up within your computer browser.
The mobile push notification (exclusive to the Follow Up Boss app!) appears as a push notification on your phone. Make sure to have push notifications enabled in your settings.
The text notification shows up in your operating system’s text app.
The email notification shows up in the inbox belonging to the email associated with your FUB account.
All five notification options are available for receiving a new lead — when a lead is directly assigned to you, manually or via lead flow — as well as receiving an existing lead. You can also receive notifications for inquiries, when a lead has registered on a website or lead source. We recommend limiting notifications to these three events to cut down on spam.
Additionally, if a lead tries to contact you, you can opt to receive a push or browser notification so you never miss a communiqué. Notifications are also available for when you’re assigned an inbox conversation or mentioned in a note, though if you check your FUB inbox several times a day, you probably won’t need them.
If you're in a pond, and a lead or that pond is mentioned, you can receive an email notification and get added as a collaborator. This means that the lead is still assigned to someone else as the primary, but you have access to notes and other lead assets.
Finally, let’s say an email sent to a lead was opened or clicked. We do NOT recommend using this notification — with a fruitful lead base, you’ll definitely get spammed!
